Fixwing, a team of industrial design students at Hanyang University, was named among the top 20 international finalists of The James Dyson Award 2026. Their device integrates intravenous catheter insertion and fixation: after the needle is removed, a folded, origami-inspired wing structure unfolds so it can be secured with one hand, aimed at unstable emergency transport settings. The patent is under examination, and the overall winner will be announced on November 4 with a prize of £30,000.

Fixwing, équipe d'étudiants en design industriel de l'université Hanyang, figure parmi les 20 meilleures équipes de la finale internationale du James Dyson Award 2026. Son dispositif réunit l'insertion et la fixation du cathéter intraveineux : une fois l'aiguille retirée, une structure à ailes inspirée de l'origami se déploie et peut être fixée d'une main, pour les transports d'urgence instables.
