Ilkem, a special-environment battery company discovered and invested in by the Gyeongnam Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, was selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' TIPS program with a project to develop a highly reliable battery pack and BMS for SAR satellites. A research team led by Prof. Yoon Seok-taek of Gyeongsang National University joins as a commissioned institute, handling circuit design and BMS while Ilkem contributes its packaging technology. Ilkem also signed a 10 billion won investment agreement last April with Gyeongsangnam-do and Jinju to build a space battery manufacturing facility.
